Why some people try to ask for a “freebie” is mind-boggling. Why would a bartender give you a “freebie?” The bar is there to make money by selling drinks. Unless there is a buy-one-take-one promo, don’t expect anything free except the conversation and the peanuts. Try not to be a cheapskate. If the bartender decides to give you one on the house, he or she will tell you without you asking for it. Have some respect for yourself as well. How do you think you look like asking for a “freebie?” Do you even care?
